Dr. John Burroughs is fellowship trained in oculofacial reconstructive and cosmetic surgery.  Shown in the picture is a USAFA football player that suffered an assault and broken bone injuries of his eye socket.  This caused him to have double vision as his eye couldn’t move correctly around the sharp bony edges.  Fortunately he didn’t lose any vision.  Dr. Burroughs repaired his broken bones through “invisible” incisions on the inner aspect of his eyelid and inner corner of his eye at the caruncle.  He removed bony fragments, repositioned the eye muscles back into the eye socket, and placed implant material to give a smooth edge to his injured bone socket areas.  He has has a full recovery with no bothersome double vision, and went onto a winning season and bowl game victory.   Dr. Burroughs was pleased to help this young collegiate athlete fully return to the sport he loves.
