Hyperhidrosis is excessive sweating of the skin. It can not only be embarrassing from an appearance stand point with soaked clothing, but it can also cause unpleasant body odor. Botulinum injections have been fantastic for patients with hyperhidrosis of the armpits, hands, and feet. Unfortunately, they require repeat injections about every 9-12 months and are costly because of the cost of botulinum toxin (e.g., Xeomin, Dysport, Botox).
There is now a new treatment that offers a more long-term if not permanent improvement for armpit hyperhidrosis using Fractora. Fractora is a radiofrequency device that delivers energy through specially designed tips that produce thermal (heat) damage under the skin. Typically, Fractora is used for cosmetic reasons providing outstanding improvement of skin lines/wrinkles and texture issues.
