This lady was bothered by the appearance of her lower eyelids and crows feet areas because of the dark hollows under her eyes and the deep wrinkles and the lack of lower eyelid smoothness.

Her options were skin resurfacing alone. At Springs Aesthetics, we use radiofrequency-based fractionated skin resurfacing with Fractora. It smooths and tightens the skin and can smooth irregularities. Fractora resurfacing takes about 5 days to heal and the tightening effect keeps improving over 3-4 months. Touchups can be done at a year. It is an amazing device that can be used on all skin types.

She wanted the hollows also improved, so she also had her lower eyelid fat surgically repositioned with an in-office procedure into the deep hollows. The skin resurfacing was done at the same time and has been thrilled with her results.

Non-surgically and non-invasively Forma could have been used that uses a topical radiofrequency hand piece to the areas to tighten. It requires a series of 6-8 treatments over 1-2 weeks apart. Results can be amazing, but it won’t address skin contour issues from fat herniation like on this patient though it would have smoothed the wrinkles and can even help lift the jowls when applied to the lower face. These treatments are actually pleasant feeling and very popular.

Also important is a medical-grade skin care regimen. We have partnered with SkinCeuticals as they have the best science and clinically backed products on the market. AOX eye serum can help with bagginess while A.G.E. serum helps also thicken the skin, smooth wrinkles, and work on pigmentary issues.  The dark under eye circles can be improved using A.G.E. serum alone or in combination with other procedures.
